This week's post shows off my first few attempts at playing with Vignette for Android. So far, I'm loving it! I just have to remember to stop (and preferably sit down) before I start playing with all the options and after-effects! (Falling down is both dangerous and embarrassing!) Okay now it's your turn! What's your favourite camera app? What are your must have features? Let me know in the comments below, and feel free to link to your photos to show off the results! Ooh and one more thing: all you peeps with sunny weather, don't forget to play in a fountain for me!

This week's song is from my absolute favourite show Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope's 2012 campaign theme song reminds us all that "It's not enough to simply catch your dream / you gotta grab your dream and you catch your dream's dream." Props to @prattprattpratt and the entire @parksandrecnbc cast. NB: Pratt's twitter pic is AMAZING!!! Download the MP3 for free here What's the one song that makes you want to "shackle it to your heart?" Share it in the comments below and we'll build the shiniest playlist yet.
Although my Smile Time: Week of Accomplishments has come to a close, I have decided to keep recording my achievements on my gratitude list. I've learned that it is important to pause and celebrate our wins, no matter their "size." Doing so builds confidence, breaks down our "not enough" stories and fuels us to carry on. Plus, it's a major source of warm fuzzies!
So here's this week's list of internal and external smile sources: *"bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica" *designing my own inspiration board graphics (keeping it simple in Microsoft Paint) *walking away from overwhelm by acknowledging aloud that I was in overwhelm (with additional help from husband, workrave and a pending dance party) *"It comes with a flute!" *three letter series done *celebrating what little blue sky I could find *getting my editorial calendar up where I can see it (I'm an out of sight out of mind kinda girl) Now it's your turn. What accomplishments do you want to shout from the rooftops this week? What things, big or small, brought you into the moment and put a smile on your face? Please take a minute and share them in the comments below. photo by Daniel Y. Go / (CC BY-NC 2.0) What does beauty look like where you are? What do you see that's worth capturing? I'd love to see life through your eyes, so please share a link to your photos in the comments below.
This week's song is by fellow Canadian Serena Ryder, whose music I've only recently come to know...and love. I am also thankful for how open she has been about her struggles with depression, and this song is an anthem for anyone who has ever been down. So turn it up! What song has you shining this week? Let's build a playlist together!
My coach Michelle encouraged me to use this week's smile time to record the things I am proud to have accomplished over the past 7 days. Here are the highlights.
*finished not 1, but 2 articles for submission to Danielle LaPorte's upcoming magazine *first ever Online Sunshine Songs to Shine By *striving for the turkey badge AND GETTING THERE!!! *taking the time to relish in the joy of accomplishing something and rewarding myself for it *dream time (3 bedrooms, 2 baths, yard, garden with corn, cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, potatoes & collards) *recognizing resistance, committing to a task I knew would be hard and following through using the one step at a time method *finding a way to refine my schedule while maintaining flexibility. Thanks Tsh!!! What did you accomplish this week that put a smile on your face? Why not take a moment to celebrate in the comments below? Turn it up and enjoy! "We just wanna make the world dance / forget about the price tag"
What song makes you shine? Help me build my playlist. What made you smile this week?
> brand new, kick ass bluetooth keyboard -- husband: "it's small and glowy, just like you." > the oatmeal's why i don't cook at home -- "SUPER EZ! (HAHA NOT REALLY)" > a kitchen that's clean enough >"it's not enough just to have a dream / you gotta catch your dream and then catch your dream's dream" > "if it doesn't make the world better, don't do it" -- my new motto I'm always looking for more smiles, so if you fee like sharing, please add yours to the comments below. |
